This evening, we visited the Art Gallery of New South Wales, which is open “after hours” on Wednesday with free entry and live music. Free wifi too! It’s a great gallery with a mix of Australian and European art, contemporary and old, painted and sculpted, including my new favourite sculpture:
Fruit Bats, 1991
Lin Onus (1948-1996)
Yorta Yorta, South Riverine region,
Melbourne, South-east region
Worth a visit for that alone!
very quirky! Is it bronze? Looks like they have little dishcloth coats on!
ReplyDeleteThe bats are polychromed* fibreglass and the clothesline is a clothesline. :-)
Delete*I think that just means painted in multiple colours.
Awesome!!!!
